Create Warehouse Location

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 529

We've been attempting to create a new warehouse location, but have been running into a hurdle. The Check on Negative Inventory report, keeps spitting out a generic "A Whse. Worksheet Line exists for Location Code BBP. It must be deleted before running Create Whse. Location batch job.

We've closed out/posted/registered/deleted everything in:

Picks

Inventory Picks

Whse. Internal Picks

Put-Aways

Inventory Put-aways

Whse. Internal Put-aways

Put-away Worksheet

Movements

Inventory Movements

Movement Worksheet

Internal Movements

Transfer Orders

Warehouse Receipts

Warehouse Shipments

Assembly Orders

Is there a list of what needs to be closed out to actually create a new Warehouse location, the developer section is very vague, in stating: There must be no negative inventory and all warehouse documents must be closed... To check what is open run "Check on Negative Inventory"

When we originally ran that report, we had a few negative inventory items on old discontinued products, which we cleaned up. We had open picks/movements/put-aways, listed, which we cleaned up. Now it is just very vague "a whse. worksheet line exists".... WHERE?!?!?

Any help would be appreciated on where to look for this rogue line so we can make our second location.

    Is that message showing when you ran report Create Warehouse Location?

    Have you done any customizations?

    You want to create new Location or enable an existing inventory location to use zones and bins to operate as a warehouse location?

    That message appears on the "Check on Negative Inventory" report, which is suggested to run when you cannot make a new warehouse location.

    The error that appears when you attempt to convert an existing location to a warehouse location is: "There is nothing to convert for location code: 'SECOND'"

    We have some customizations, however, we have a test database, for testing any new additions (which does not have any active warehouse documents or any daily entries, but does have all of our mods on it) and it is able to create additional warehouses.

    According to the developer library: msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh896794(v=nav.71).aspx

    We need to run the Check on Negative Inventory Report, to help assist in determining what is hanging up the process. That is the report that gives the vague "A Whse. Worksheet Line is open...."

    It seems like "A Whse. Worksheet Line is open...." is a customized message as I didn't find it in NL and IN databases.

    The report that gives that message is one we've never used before, and would have had no reason to customize. Our Object designer lists it as Version: NAVW17.00 (Check on Negative Inventory)

    In looking at the C/AL Code for the report, this looks to be the pertinent section:

    WhseWkshLine.SETCURRENTKEY("Item No.","Location Code");

    WhseWkshLine.SETRANGE("Location Code",LocCode);

    IF WhseWkshLine.FINDFIRST THEN

     AddError(

       STRSUBSTNO(

         Text007,

         WhseWkshLine.TABLECAPTION,

         WhseWkshLine.FIELDCAPTION("Location Code"),

         LocCode));

    This appears to be the code that searches for any open Whse. Worksheet Lines... but how can we tell where this searches, so we can go to that worksheet and close/register any open lines?

    It points to Table 7326 - Whse. Worksheet Line

    Thanks Mohana,

    I feel like we are getting closer, but still not working. Each time we try to convert Location: WAREHOUSE2 to a Warehouse Location, it gives the error: There is nothing to convert for Location Code 'WAREHOUSE2'.

    We have gone into our SQL database in our TEST company/server, and have removed ALL lines in Warehouse Shipment Header/Line, Warehouse Receipt Header/Line, Whse_Internal Pick/Put-away Header/Line, and Whse_Worksheet_Line.

    From what we can tell every possible warehouse document, page, table is now blank, but we still cannot convert a location to a warehouse location.

    Any other pieces of advice, or things to try? I can't imagine it isn't common for already operating companies to require adding additional warehouses.

    Thanks again!

    Updated.

    Completely confused now. After deleting more stuff from the SQL database, we have removed ALL errors from the Check on Negative Inventory report, which in theory should mean we are now ready to create a warehouse location.

    Nope. Still get the above mentioned error:  There is nothing to convert for Location Code 'WAREHOUSE2'.

    Do you have any Item Ledger Entries open for Location SECOND?
