How to pick which Model-drive app is loaded

Posted on by 10

We have a development and quality environment setup which we have been using with the Resco version of Field Service mobile and just started exploring this new version. The development team previously would have copies of their project in the Woodford FSM app, that we could test stuff separately before putting it in the main branch but we would all point to the same dev environment.

How does a person do something like this in the new version? We have created other Model-drive 'Apps' in the PowerApps dashboard but it opens the 'Field Service Mobile' app each time.

Thanks.

As of today the app container will only show the standard FS Mobile app in every instance. We will soon add a capability to flag additional apps to be available, unfortunately there is no workaround currently.

If this is always going to pick the 'Field Service Mobile' app then the only way I see this as working would be to create a separate environment for each developer. I'm just not sure if I'm missing something...

I'm confused because in the make.powerapps.com site it lists a bunch of Apps but in the new Field Service app it only displays our 2 environments (dev and qa) as the option. I would expect another screen to pick what App I would like to open instead of defaulting to the Field Service Mobile 'App'.

When you open the menu panel, there should be an "apps" link in the top-right corner. This takes you to a list of all mobile apps in your tenant. In the settings, there is also a switch to display non-production apps. The list of available apps depends on your security role.
