How to increase attachment upload size in Dynamic 365 portal

Hello all,

I am using the portal add-on for Dynamics CRM. On the portal, I have added an entity form, in which I have enabled the 'Attatch File' option, and set the Maximum file size to 30,000 kb. Yet whenever I try to upload an attachment that is greater than 5 mb, the portal crashes. Any ideas as to how to increase the size? I am trying to upload a pdf file and the Restrict files to accepted types is not enabled.

Hey AkshayD , have you figured this one out?

I am facing a similar issue - we have a Portal and D365 Customer Service Hub and the maximum attachment size differs for annotations (Notes) when I add a Note+attachment to a Case via the portal VS. when I add a Note+attachment via CS Hub (in the portal, I am limited to 5 MB regardless of what I set under Email tab in System Settings)....

    Any help is appreciated :-)

    Hi AkshayD,

What is the version of your D365?

Have you tried cleaning up the browser cache and cookies and uploading them in a browser like Edge?

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Lu Hao

    Hi AkshayD,

The default size limit for attachments is 5120kB/5MB but can be increased to 32768Kb/32MB for older versions of CRM and 131072Kb/128MB for newer versions of CRM.

Please refer to this article for details: https://community.dynamics.com/crm/b/magnetismsolutionscrmblog/archive/2017/03/30/storage-considerations-for-dynamics-365-attachments

The steps to modify are as follows:

Go to Settings > Administration > System Settings

    3036.2.JPG    3036.2.JPG

Under the Email tab, find "Set file size limit for attachments" and modify "Maximum file size (in kilobytes)" to the size limit you need.

    6470.3.JPG

If your D365 version is 9.0 or higher, the attachment size limit can be set to no more than 131072Kb/128MB.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Lu Hao

    Hi,

You should change the setting for the maximum file size on the Email tab of the System Settings in CRM. The standard setting is 5 MB, that's why you get the error.
