Users can't see my new menu item

I've added a new menu item to a form.  When I login as admin on the server or a client I can see it and it works fine.  When a non-admin logs in they can't see the menu items in the form.  I'm new to AX.  I have not done anything with permissions for my new menu item.  Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks!

If this is AX 2012, then the only thing you are missing is adding some additional nodes to the Security node. You will need to create a Privilege and drop the menu item into the Entry Points. From Properties you need to set the Access Level.

Next up is dropping this privilege on to a Duty and finally dropping the Duty on to a Role.

It is pretty much summarized here: technet.microsoft.com/.../hh556870.aspx

    (or msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg843719.aspx)

Finally, you need to make sure the correct users are given the necessary Role, and then they will see your menu item without being SystemAdministrator.

Now there are Best Practice conventions for naming your Privilege, Duty and Role. I would recommend trying to adhere to the convention used by Microsoft.

Thanks.  Luckily I was extending existing functionality and I was able to add my menu item to an existing privilege that grouped together other essential functions.  Anyway, it works now!

    Sweet! :-) Good job!

Thanks for marking the answer, though.
