Alerts in the Common module (Cases) – Activities

Currently, in the Common module → Cases → Activities, when creating an alert, the following behavior occurs:

after configuring the criteria and attempting to save a customized alert view, the system does not retain the configured changes and always displays the generic view.

Is there a way to properly save the view so that the configured changes are applied?

If not, is there another alternative to generate alerts for activities when their status changes to Completed?

I have the same question (0)

For your custom view to be saved and be shown whenever you click "Create a custom alert", ensure you pin as default while you hit the save button.
However, I would like to mention that, to generate alerts for activities when their status changes to Completed, you should set the field closed is set to Yes.

    Hi Cristian,

Can you tell us what exact changes you applied to the view of the form when you mention "configuring the criteria"?

Thank you. This is the view I am trying to save.

I performed the test using the Closed status as instructed; however, the view does not retain the configured changes. Instead, it reverts back to the standard view, as shown.

I don’t understand why it doesn’t save the changes in the view; it doesn’t take any of the changes.

Please, can you tell us why you more interested in saving the view than having the actual alert rule triggered based on the condition?

Whenever you click on create a custom alert, a fresh page opens up. When you are done , you can find it under manage my alerts for any modification.

The specific requirement is the following:

Every time an activity record is created, I need to activate an alert so that I receive a notification once the activity is completed. This would provide better control over the activities that I create. Therefore, each time I create an activity, I need to activate the alert with the same specifications, which is why there is a need to save the alert view.

Is there any way to achieve this, or what other options can be considered for this specific scenario?

    Hi Cristian,

A saved view can store changes in visibility of controls or can save queries to limit particular data. It can't be used to set default values for form controls.

As mentioned above by Komi, you can create one alert rule where it looks for modifications on the Closed field.
