I have 3 CRM environments (servers), Development, Test and Production in our on-premise deployment.
I need to be users to those 3 CRM environments.
Do I need 3 licenses for each?
If in online/cloud, do I also need 3 licenses for each instance?
For on-premises licensing is by users using Client Access Licenses. The server license is included as part of the CAL so there is no server license to buy. So you need to have a CAL for each user regardless of the number of environments.
In Online, each user must have a subscription license for the relevant product (Sales, Service etc). You may create as many as environments as you require but each each environment requires at least 1GB disk capacity so you need to have sufficient disk capacity to create an environment.
