Difference between datasource parameters and report parameters

Posted on by 325

Hi Community,

Can someone please tell me the difference between the two parameters that we see in the image below, specially how they are related and if they should be created from data contract or from my modeled query?

Thanks in advance

RE: Difference between datasource parameters and report parameters

    Hi Pop,

When a query is added as a dataset, the ranges defined for the query are automatically added to both Parameters node of the dataset and the report. The dataset parameters can

be seen under the parameter node in dataset. Each parameter in the dataset refers to a report parameter, which can be seen through the Report parameter property.

The parameters that start with AX_  are system parameters and are defined by the system for internal purposes. However, they can be made visible to the user based on the requirement, except for the AX_UserContext parameter. System parameters are hidden by default and have a default value.
