AX 2012 theme

In Office 2013 I choose the 'dark grey' theme in File > Options. This enhances the colour contrast between the menus and the data and makes the screen easier to read.

Many of our users have complained about the 'glare' on the white / very pale blue AX 2012 screen. Is there a setting I can adjust to change this. Changing the default Windows display settings doesn't seem to alter it.

    Hello Peter,

Have you tried changing the color scheme of your computer?

Does that make things better visible?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello Ludwig,

We are using server 2019 with RDS. As far as I can see there no option to change schemes.

I will add a screenshot, so you can see the difference.

    Kind regards,

    Hello Peter,

Which form of Windows 2019 you are using, Core or Desktop Experience ?

You can't change the theme for Remote apps from client, to do you have to applied change via GPO settings.

For allowing user to have a particular theme, you can enable the GPO setting “Load a Specific theme” on RDSH server for particular users under below mention path.

    User Configuration\policies\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Personalization

    Procedure

1.On the Active Directory server, open the Group Policy Management Console.

2.Expand your domain and Group Policy Objects.

3.Right-click the GPO that you created for the group policy settings and select Edit.

4.In the Group Policy Management Editor, navigate to User Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Personalization.

5.Enable the setting Force a specific visual style file or force Windows classic and set the Path to Visual Style as %windir%\resources\Themes\Aero\aero.msstyles

    Hello Asif,

First thanks for your response. We use Desktop Experience.

We are running the aero theme. And afaik there is no official classic theme for server 2019. I tried various things from gpo that need to change theme to brightness settings. None of it all seems te work. Strange thing is that on some newer monitors its better visible than older ones. We just want our old raster like 2008RDS back for better visibility.

If anyone has more ideas, feel free.

    Kind Regards,

    Peter

    Hello Peter,

Another kind of 'last resort' source of information would be a support case that you can open with MS.

They might have some special / hidden tricks available that might help you getting the visibility improved.

Have you already tried reaching out to them?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
