I would like to know how to generate planned transfer orders from multiple warehouses by executing Master plan.
For example, suppose there are Warehouse A, Warehouse B, and Warehouse C. Warehouse A has 20 units of Item X in stock. Warehouse C has 30 units of Item X in stock. Warehouse B is set as the default warehouse for Item X.
Let's say we need 50 units of Item X to manufacture a product. I would like to be able to generate transfer orders from Warehouse A and Warehouse C, where there is inventory, when running master plan.
What settings do I need to make to generate transfer orders? Is this type of scenario possible? (If I set a main warehouse, inventory in other warehouses will not be taken into consideration.)
Master planning will only propose, via Planned orders, whatever is configured as the default (for the Item/Warehouse, or Warehouse, if you are using refilling).
In your example, you could not set Warehouse B to be fulfilled, by default, from Warehouse A and Warehouse C.
Master planning makes the proposal, based on the settings. Planners can review the planned orders, and change the order type if necessary, if they want to override the default proposal.
