Modify Plug-in trigger event

Hi All

I have got some plugins installed in CRM organisation to update record on a certain event, now business has identified a requirement to change the criteria to trigger an event and update record.

Unfortunately I haven't got a source code available to change and redeploy the plugin, wondering if there is a possibility to modify the code using plug-in registration tool?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi,

You cannot change the code using the plug-in registration tool

You can change the criterias that Trigger the Plugin from the  plug-in registration tool (change the fields that trigger the Plugin )

But if you want to change some business logic  and you dont have the code source ,

you can try to get the (DLL) assemblies using  Assembly Recovery Tool from  XRMToolBox : http://www.xrmtoolbox.com

After that you can try to Decompile the assemblly using some tools from the web.

If the solution is Decompiling you can reffer to this :

    Hi

As suggested, you can download the plugin using XrmToolBox (Assembly Recovery Tool) and decompile it using any of the tools available (example: JetBeans dotPeek).

You use the above method to find out the Business Logic in the existing plugin and you can create a new plugin accordingly.
