Difference between Model Driven App and Customer Service Workspace

Hi there,

Can you please help me understand the difference between Customer Service Workspace and Model Drive Application in D365? Are both referring to the same D365 application? Meaning, the customization we do in any D365 application like Sales, Marketing and Customer Service like form customization and JS customization remain same in both the environment or it follows it's own set of protocol (syntax)?

Thank you,

Leo

    RE: Difference between Model Driven App and Customer Service Workspace

    Hi, a model driven app is an aplication that uses as data source Dataverse(accounts, contacts,invoice, etc), Customer Service Workspace it is a Model Driven App but its pourpose its to handle your work agents'  tasks related to customer cases (tickets) see it as a Tool, this is part of Customer Service App. Any configuration you do in a form it belongs to that form(if you use that form in diferent apps it will have the same configuration), it will not be the same in other environment or aplication unless you export all your customization and import it with solutions.

    RE: Difference between Model Driven App and Customer Service Workspace

    Hi Pablo,

    Thank you very much for your prompt response!

    Could you also make me understand if there is any change in syntax of JavaScript, Plugin and other custom code between customer service workspace and other d365 Dataverse applications like Sales, Marketing and Customer Services? Generally, we use the following syntax to retrieve any attributes in D365 Application as shown below and in article.

    Example:  var attributeValue =  formcontext.getAttribute("attributeSchema").getValue();

    Are there any changes if we want to perform any validation using JS in Customer Service WorkSpace in D365 or the same set of syntax mentioned above can be used?

    Thank you,

    Leo
