You may put your code in startup(method) of Info(class) to genarte any alert as popup

    Hi Muhammad.

AX has its own internal notification system that will show pop ups inside the dynamics AX Client (also bottom right). This may not be precisely like skype etc, but it should be sufficient for your needs. Sohaib's post provides a nice link to how to create these notifications.

However you may note that depending on exactly ehen the notification is created it may take a few minutes to show the popup as the AX client only polls for messages every couple of minutes.

Can you maybe explain what you would like to notify the user of? Maybe it would be better to should a small dialog window or something instead

Take a look at the "notfications" section of your user options for the exact polling time.

    Kind Regards

    Jonathan

If you want a new icon in the notification area in Windows, you'll have to create a custom application. This application can communicate with Dynamics AX in some way, of course.

    Hi Haaris.

You asked me to explain my post in a private message but I think it would be better to add it into this conversation for future reference.

Basically the notification functionality in AX works as a messaging system where there is a sender and a reciever. The sender being a module or some code in AX triggered by a business process that needs to notify the user of an even. This could be changed based alerts, workflow, granting on-behalf of permissions etc.... The reciever is the AX client. It checks the AOS every 15min or so to determine whether any new messages have been sent and displays a  This means that if a message is sent to you by AX (for example using the code for Sohaib) it may take between 0 and 15 minutes to appear as a popup, it is very unlikely to appear immediately.

If you are wanting to display something immediately to the client I think you will either need to build some form of .Net component to interact with AX or just use the infolog or a messagebox. You can call these from the methods suggested by Sohaib.

i hope this assists in explaining the issue a bit better.

I do agree to Jonathan Halland, in the sense that batch delays can be a matter/ concern in terms of notification appearance.

may be you can use Box::Info(

using .net dll and then handling them with your ax installation in AX 2009 is bit difficult.

if it was 2012, dll/.net can carried in best way without caring to copy paste or deploy dll.

    Hi Sohaib Cheema,

    I have one more doubt.

From your reply, In that Link, the author has mentioned as a 4th point in this article.

    axlearning.blogspot.com/.../custom-build-notifications-and-popup-in.html

      4. But In notification form you can’t find the record by clicking Go to Origin button. If anybody know this please guide me. Thanks.

    How to fix this point.

    Thanks in advance..

origin of record is needed in cases such as workflows. where user need to approve a certain document. so before approval, user would be looking to go to original document, which as been requested for approval.

now In your case, as you want to show a pop-up notification, so we really have no idea, about what the notification is, which you are going to show to user. if its related to a record, you can route the user to origin of transaction.
