Hello:
i would like to create a /Demo lab/ in a virtual machine that I can use strictly for testing and demonstration purposes. I'm currently working on CRM 4.0 and have tried numerous times to replicate what Microsoft provided back when this product was still being supported (e.g. a single vmware virtual machine that has everything (AD, IIS, CRM, SQL, etc.)) and it seems as if this installation methodology is failing me. In my production environment, I have SQL and CRM on the same VM and everything else broken out (AD, exchange, etc.) into separate VMs. I would like to minimize the number of VMs I need to package up for internal distribution but this has gone up in the /magic purple smoke/.
I understand that the demo VMs that Microsoft put out were on virtual PC and were time-limited but that's the goal I'm shooting for (to replicate that setup or as close thereto as possible)
Thus my questions are:
1) what is the best practice for creating a completely clean environment for demonstration or test purposes?
2) Would I need to replicate my entire production environment (8 total virtual machines) to set this up? (really not in the mood to deal with that due to the whole /hang on... let me power this up.../ line but I am prepared to do just that if I have to)
Thanks for any help given in advance.
