How to calculate an assembly item cost for Subcontracted Items

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

As we aware Assembly Orders are internal Orders are used to generate/manage sellable Items (which are called assembly Items). Assembly BOM consists of multiple Item and Resource costs. The assembly process is dealing with the logistics flow quite well.

In our scenario, Few Assembly BOM components are not Purchasable Items. ex. ONE Item (which is not available in Assembly BOM), goes out for subcontracting works and comes as Assembly BOM Item. I Mean the Item which comes in from subcontracting is the assembly BOM Item. Is there any way to calculate the 3rd Party (Subcontract) in Assembly Order?

How to calculate an assembly items cost at all levels especially Subcontracted Item.

    Hello Vinu,

We have a very similar issue. To figure out a way of using simple subcontracting with Assembly Mgt without using the huge / complicated Manufacturering Module.

Were you ever able to get a solution to this?
