the version name of SQL isn't in Ax but you can find its version number:

go to systemadministration -> inquiries ->Database-> Database information

on tab ODBC you see a property called MSDB_VER which contains the version number of SQL.

Starting with 10 it is SQL2008

Starting with 10.5 it is SQL2008R2

Starting with 11 it is SQL2012

    Hi,

you can go to System Administration > Inquiries > Database > Database information.

Open that form and go to ODBC tab and find DBMS _VER.
