Has anyone successfully integrated AX towards Project Server (Microsoft EPM)?

We are looking into integrating Dynamics AX 2009 with Project Server 2010 and Microsoft EPM.

Does anyone have any experience in doing this, and if it works?  I know there was a standardized solution with Dynamics 2009 and Project Server 2007, and also Microsoft Dynamics 2012 and Project Server 2010, but I have not seen anything for AX 09 together with Project Server 2010.

What we are looking to accomplish is:

1. Syncronize Project from the Project module in AX with EPM.

2. Transfer Hours and Milestone from EPM to AX.

Regards

Thor

Hi Thor, we do not support the use of Project Server 2010 with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009. If you require the use of Project Server 2010, you'll need to use Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. For more information, see the system requirements.

    Hi Margo,

Is there any way at all that we can integrate AX 2009 with Project Server 2010? We have successfully installed synchronization and proxy services on respective servers and the data is reaching out to Project Server 2010 when synched from AX 2009. However, on the project server side, we are seeing following error in the event viewer -

    ===========================================

    Standard Information:PSI Entry Point:

Project User: <Dynamics AX Service Account>

    Correlation Id: 7b5f5ae8-a2e6-4fbe-9170-fdd96dfaa872

PWA Site URL: <Project Server PWA Site URL>

    SSP Name: Project  Dev Server

    PSError: GeneralQueueCorrelationBlocked (26005)

Operation could not completed since the Queue Correlated Job Group is blocked. Correlated Job Group ID is: 37410839-84f2-45c8-9a96-28be98c59fa5. The job ID of the affected job is: 572f186d-b27f-4455-b131-a91c80ae0327. The job type of the affected job is: ReportingLookupTableSync. You can recover from the situation by unblocking or cancelling the blocked job. To do that, go to PWA, navigate to 'Server Settings -> Manage Queue Jobs', go to 'Filter Type' section, choose 'By ID', enter the 'Job Group ID' mentioned in this error and click the 'Refresh Status' button at the bottom of the page. In the resulting set of jobs, click on the 'Error' column link to see more details about why the job has failed and blocked the Correlated Job Group. For more troubleshooting you can look at the trace log also. Once you have corrected the cause of the error, select the affected job and click on the 'Retry Jobs' or 'Cancel Jobs' button at the bottom of the page.

This could purely be because of the point that you have highlighted above but we still wanted to check for any possible work around. Any guidance on the same would greatly help. Looking forward to hearing back from you, Many thanks,

    Sincerely,

    Manish

    Hi Manish,

Unfortunately, having determined that we will not support Project Server 2012 with AX 2009, we are not aware of any workarounds for the issues that you have raised. You may want to work with an integration partner.

    Hi Margo,

I am guessing you meant Project Server 2010 vs Project Server 2012. If so, than I guess MS customers are left with left with no option but to either upgrade AX or downgrade project server! Either ways, thank you so much. This is really useful information.

    Regards,

    Manish
