Decimal place for currency varies between item card and item/vendor card

I got a call about decimal places currency for items in inventory. For about 25 items the decimal place currency is 3 on the item card, but when you view the item vendor card it is 4. I see nothing on the IV00103 table that controls the decimal place currency.  What is causing this difference?
