Weird Layout issue with RunModal in 2009 R2

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi Guys,

We are using NAV 2009 R2 build 34332 AU version

Currently I've noticed if I call a card page use runmodal it will show all the fields belonged to a Tab on one single column, while I use Run it will show 2 columns nicely.

it can be easy replicated by create a new card page with all default settings based on Customer table and put all the fields under one tab. link it back to a function on page 21. switch between Run and RunModal you will be able to see the difference.

However I also did some testing on the standard customer card, surprisingly no matter which method you are using it will always give the same nice result(2 rows on the card).

I've searched Customer source and the only thing I can find is KB 2477467 "Page layout can change when running the page with RUNMODAL"

which only applies to SP1 , from the build number seems like it should been included in R2 Build already.

Just wondering if anyone had encountered the same issue and how to resolve this?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Dan

Yep it is a strange one & i would go with it being a bug, it does all work as expected if you add a second group to the page, even if it is empty
