Field Service for High School Trash Cleaning Business or other solution

My son has been cleaning trash cans in our neighborhood for a year.  I’d like to think of a way to take his little business and make it more digital/automated.

I don’t know if FS is the right solution for something like this or a different Dynamics product.  I know FS is overkill as it’s used by large corporations, but I’m trying to plan out how his business processes would look if he had a solution like FS.

The business cycle is simple:

  1. Marketing - Hand out fliers with QR code to scan to sign up for services via Microsoft Form
  2. Information from Form gets added to a CRM - Cus timer information; # of trash cleans to clean; trash day or week
  3. Service - This is where I want to see how a CRM/FS could be used:
    1. each customer account in CRM has each trash can listed as an item to be serviced
    2. Monthly service is assigned to different employees/field technicians
    3. Technician clean cans and take pictures of clean cans
    4. FS automated texts client once service is complete

Again, I know FS is overkill for a simple business like this, but I would love any input that users have on the above as to whether or not this is possible with FS or if I should look for a different product.  I would love to automate the business so that he can scale it easier.  Thank you for your time and your help in advance.

    Hi Goforit515,

    Yes, FS could do it. However, as you said, FS is overkill for this and you would need to spend some money on this(FS Pricing: https://dynamics.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/#Service).

    Please consider whether is it worth using FS for this business?

    Its amazing that at small level business also you are thinking to implement Field Service. 
     
    As FS is costly I would suggest you to drop idea to go with FS but you can still go with Dynamics 365 for Customer Service, here are reason behind this,  
     
    • Number technician might be less
    • Scheduling of technician might not be required as moment
    • No need of inventory management & returns as well 
    • Cost of Field Service is higher
    There could be more reason as well. You can build required features on top of customer service as well.

    3. Scaling Tips: Offer subscription plans (e.g., $30/month for 2 bins) and highlight eco-friendly cleaning in marketing.
