Trying to get my iPhone and another employees iPhone setup with the NAV App and on both devices we are running into the, "Could not connect to the server" Right now we are just using our internal wifi network and if i take the same URL that's supposed to go into the "service name" and put it in a browser on the phone it works flawlessly, So i know i have the correct URL unless theirs something special im missing.

The same app and server info works fine on android..

iPhone 6s on iOS 9.0.2

Our Nav is 2016

Hi, I think problem is in access to your navserver outside of your work network.

Check if you can access to NAV web client from your phone or notebook, outside of your wifi network.

If you can connect inside, and cannot outside - this mean that port for web client is not open.

For right now im on the company wifi and if im out of the office i use our VPN.

But for testing right now im on our wifi.

For Service name im just doing https://<ip>/NAVDB01/ and it gives me the could not connect to the server.

If i try the same URL in a browser it will let me login fine..

Oh I see. I think problem can be in self-signed certificate.

Please follow this instructions to check if you have setuped all correctly.

Are you using the same certificate that works on android in iPhone.

Check if you have multiple certificate installed on iPhone, if yes remove them.

As other members suggested, you need to check if you made needed trusted certificate installation.

    Ballistic

your are exactly right you don’t need to port forward if you connect through internal network

Refer this video 100% guaranteed your issue will close , when i was testing  got same error that you receive (android) i followed this video and its working fine now

On my iPhone I had to go into Settings, General, Certificate Trust Settings, ENABLE FULL TRUST FOR ROOT CERTIFICATES for my self signed certificate. Only then would I get prompted to login instead of "Could not connect to the server".

You have to enable the settings under Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings. Under "Enable full trust for root certificates," turn on trust for the certificate. Then only u can run the Dynamics Nav app from Iphone.
