Hi Everyone
I have setup a client to email their customer statement using Word templates.
They are using release 18.4.1384
All is working fine except in the body of the email there are <<...>> brackets with periods on the first line as shown below
There are no fields being pulled into the body of the email. It is all text.
Any thoughts on why these brackets appear and how to get rid of them?
thanks
Hi Margi
I think that I will need to open a support case on this issue.
thanks for trying to assist
By the way the only 'canned' outgoing email messages are ones for workflow. All the purchasing (PO's, vendor remittances) and Sales (invoices, credit notes, statements) are user defined.
Hi,
I recommend you use the standard canned email message to see if that works first. Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP | Tools | Setup | Company | E-mail Settings.
Select anyone of the standard message IDs for example Vendor Remittance then test this.
If that works, then I recommend using this and perhaps add in the fields you want by clicking on the Field drop down > click on a field > then test to see if the message ID works.
If you still have trouble, I recommend you open a support ticket for further assistance.
Thank you,
Margi Jandro
Hi Margi
thanks for trying to answer but unfortunately it is not the answer.
The brackets appear in the body of the email.
When I go into the email message setup window and select the outgoing message with the problem, all I see is the text that we want to appear in the outgoing email.
There are no brackets anywhere in the body.
I have tried this in both the production company and a test company with both returning the same results.
Hi,
I am not sure if you are referring to brackets in the email message or if you are referring to brackets in the Word Template. Therefore, I am sending along a couple of pieces of information that I hope will help you. If not, you may need to create a support ticket for a deeper review of the issue.
The email message setup has insert fields which look like this {%Net Paid Amount%}, so I think this is not your case per your screenshot above. If possible, click on the brackets and click delete.
If the field is printing in RW, the next steps should be to update the XML source:

Thank you,
