As an Admin, I want to assign/set an Account Owner who does not have a active license. Can I do it, if so what are the steps? Basically set a user as account owner without using a Dynamics license. That account owner will not be using Dynamics until we go live.
Under Sales Hub Account entity, I plan on loading the data from our legacy system. I am setting up the owner id to our associate who would be the account owner. As part of the migration process, I do not want to utilize a license for the owner and start paying for the license when the product roll-out is in the future. I am getting everything setup before we roll out. So I do not want to pay for license upfront. When we get closer to the roll-out, will get the account owner the necessary license they need.
So is there a way I can associate an account owner without consuming a license? I should be able to assign unlicensed user as the account owner on the web or using build import using excel/csv. Any help and steps to accomplish would be very much appreciated. I am open to other alternatives.
Note: I have my associates (who are going to be assigned as account owner's) under my Team.
if you want to assign an Account Onner who does not have Dynamics license,
I suggest that you assign the user as Microsoft Power Automate Free or Forms pro trial which have Common Data Service app.
when the user has such a free license to have Common Data Service app , the user appears in User list in Dynamics CRM online.
after than you can assign him as an Dynamics service role.
