I have a custom form in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations with two TabPages:
Overview TabPage: shows a grid (list page style)
Detail TabPage: shows header fields and line datasources
Current behavior:
The form opens on the Overview tab.
When I click New, a new record is created inline in the grid on the Overview tab.
The record is created correctly, but the form stays on the Overview tab.
What I want: When the user clicks New (and a new record is created), the form should automatically switch to the Detail TabPage so the user can enter header and line details.
Question: What is the recommended way to programmatically activate or switch to a specific TabPage (Detail tab) after clicking New in a custom D365FO form? Should this be handled in the datasource (e.g. create(), initValue()), the form, or via TabPage.activate()?
create()
initValue()
TabPage.activate()
Any best practice or example would be appreciated.
