Unable to create security from site setting in SSRS

Hello,

After deploying SSRS I wanted to grant users access. When I logged in to the report manager I click on site setting but after that I couldn't view anything.

No security icon for me to click on.

What could have cause this issue?

And how do I resolve it?

Thank you

If you're using Chrome or Firefox you may not be able to "see" anything.

If you're using  the newest version of Internet Explorer, you will have to add the SSRS server to your Compatability view list. Tools >> Compatability View Settings.

I would review the following KB:

    Hi Funmilayo,

Open report manager in your current version of IE and press F12 and change the browser mode to listed available version(s) to enable view and access the corresponding page.

Have you tried launching IE as administrator?

    Thanks

The only user initially granted access to SSRS Security is the user performing the installation.   It does not matter if you are a Machine or Domain Admin, you won't get permissions by default - only the install user will.  If you're logged on as the user who performed the install, then make sure you add the site to you compatibility list in newer versions of IE.

There are a couple of reasons for this.

    1. Make sure you are running IE as Admin.  Right click IE and select Run as Administrator.

    2. Make sure that your user account is part of the LOCAL Administrators group on the server SSRS is deployed to.  By default BUILTIN\Administrators is the only group allowed to set permissions.

Please see the second bullet point on the Before Getting Started.

"You must be a member of the local Administrators group on the report server computer. If you are deploying Reporting Services on Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, additional configuration is required before you can administer a report server locally. For more information, see Configure a Native Mode Report Server for Local Administration (SSRS)."
