We don't want Sales Representatives to delete Opportunities, but Sales Managers should still be able to delete them.
We also want the restriction to apply even if someone tries to delete the record through another interface or API.
Can this be handled through security roles?
Create explicit security roles Sales Representator and Manager.
Sales Representator Security Role: Assign the Delete privilege to Opportunity entity equals to none. Therefore, the sales representator will be unable to delete any record. Same role assign to the usera which will be used to invoke the APIs or Power Automate Flows. Keep in mind Sales Representator does not belongs to a team which carries a role to delete an opportunity.
Manager Security Role: Provide a Delete privilege to Opportunity.
