I am in a manufacturing project which gone live two months before, and on every month end system is showing Item Ledger Entry is locked by another user because Journal line posting and invoice posting (ILE Creation) come to its peak on month end. I request you please suggest me somthing.

    Blocking is a part of SQL Server and making sure there is data integrity. If you have multiple people posting at the same time, you will most likely run into blocking scenarios, though you should not Deadlock. If you are on NAV 2009 R2, one thing to help reduce the blocking is to change from the default Serializable isolation level to the RepeatableRead isolation level that is now possible. This won't stop blocking of course, but it reduces the amount of blocking due to what 'outside' records are locked. This is the new isolation level that will be the default (and only option) for NAV 2013. You can get the information on how to do this by downloading the .pdf file from the following blog, the file is called "NAV - SQL Config.pdf".

    The only other options for blocking are to optimize indexes so you don't have unneeded scans locking, or to change your processes so they are not running at the same time.
