Invoicing without Sales Order

Dear Support,

      I need some help in creating Cash invoice which does not have sales orders. This is like People used to buy Materials by paying cash directly and we make cash invoice.  These materials are in Inventory. As I am new to this ERP, i do not know the right way to enter this transaction in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3.

    Hello Ramji M.H.,

    If the materials sold are in your inventory you should probably setup and make use of a sales order as this automatically adjusts your inventory.

    If you cannot or do not want to make use of sales order invoices, you can alternatively use free text invoices that are described here in more detail: technet.microsoft.com/.../hh208454.aspx

    Yet, when making use of free text invoices you have to ensure that somebody in your warehouse adjusts the inventory correspondingly for example through an inventory adjustment journal. Otherwise, your inventory will be wrong.

    You can think of using Free Text Invoice(FTI) in the ERP, However items in the FTI are not tracked in Inventory.
