Edit email template in a live customer journey

Posted on by 30

Is it possible to make changes on an email in a live customer journey when it is live?

It is for a email that we haven't sent out yet.

We will have a customer journey for a product launch and will do a webinar and for those who didn't attend we want to send an email with a link to the recorded event.
The problem that we have is that we don't have the link for the recording until after the webinar is done, but we still want to prepare and go live with journey and then just add the link to the CTA in the email template that we haven't sent out yet.

Is this possible?

This is a template of what we want to do. Thoughts?

Hi, don't think is possible that's why when hosting a teams webinar I split my CJ's into two. Pre-event to handle the event invitations and registrations, then a post-event CJ going-live a few hours or day later where we add the recording URL and offer the webinar as on-demand and continue a nurturing campaign.

    Hi sthuresson,

Reading your case I believe you are trying to edit the email while the Journey is still live and expect that the changes would be reflected?

Please be advised that it wont work, for the changes to be reflect you will have to make necessary changes to your email, "stop the journey" and then "go live again" with your customer journey.

here's the Microsoft docs reference to support this:

I recommend you use 2 different Customer Journeys to achieve this,

    1. To distribute the webinar and details regarding the same
    2. To distribute the recording link after the webinar
this would make sure your recording link was delivered properly.

If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.

    Best Regards,
    Hari

Thank you, another question that i have:

If we have a teams webinar and records it, is it any way that you can get the url for the webinar before so you can add it to the customer journey and then go live?

Because that is the problem that we have above. We need to upload the video and then edit the journey and add the url to the email after the event.

The best solution would be if we can build our journey and then go live with it and already know the link for the on demand video.

    Hi,

    Yes, it is possible.

You just need to edit the live journey and change the email from the right hand of the UI.
