If you are a new student of AX, let me tell you something, in Dynamics AX you don't need to write anything like connection string or add/delete queries to interact with database.

kindly go through next URL to know how to create a new form

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg879955.aspx

moreover, if you can have access to customer or partner source, you may download development manual-1 for study, which can be helpful

can you explain little more on "blank input fields"

Moreover, please answer below questions as well

    1) have you Dragged table under datasource node of form

    2) are you using a grid or some other way to handle User Interface

Add a CommandButton on your initial form and set it's Command property to Save.

    Thank Bhai for quick answer

I have dragged the table under data source

I have created a second form with grid, where I have created a commandbutton with property save.

    Thanks lulian ,

I have added a command button and set the property to save. after this am able to insert the record into table but again if I want to insert the next record the form is prepopulated with previous record. and I got end up replacing the first record with next record. please let me know how to insert the values dynamically in X++

You can add a new CommandButton and set its command to New.

but why the values are getting pre populated instead of getting the blank fields in the first form when I have opened the first form.

do I need to write any code explicitly to override the clicked() ?

if you can show details with some images etc. may be someone can understand that better, than theoretical discussion
