All Journal Names are not listed in General Journal

Dear Al,

I have created few Journal Names under General Ledger> Setup> Journals > Journal Names.

But while creating the "General Journal" am getting only "Daily" name in Name lookup.

Please check the attached image.

And please tell me what more settings I need to do in order to get all the journal names in the General Journal lines "Name" lookup.

    It is as per design. You cannot display apart from daily journal type. If you want, you have to customized.

    Hi Naveen,

    The journal type is used as indication where the journal is used. The Daily journal is for the general ledger. E.g. a customer payment journal type can be used when you open a journal in the accounts receivable menu.

    As Bhaskar said: This is intended design.

    Could you please let me how should I modify the \Classes\JournalFormTable\designLookupJournalName class to get all(or any one based on my requirement(AR Invoice)) in the lookup ?

    I think it would not be a justice with system to do this customization. we are trying to change purpose of journals. I am unable to think why we need all journal names therein GL

    See, you should not change. each journal has attached with voucher sequence as per business process and also have parameters setting in journal level which might not applicable for AR. It could bring some error during journal posting.

    I do agree with the guys above. If you need to have the AR invoice journal available within the general journals, you need to change the journal type on the journal name from Customer payment to Daily. I tried to tell that in my previous reply.
