No Sender Found error when trying to email a Contact

Hello,

When our users try to send an email to a Contact in Dynamics the From field is blank and uneditable. When someone hits "Send" they get an error that says "No Sender Found. The email must have a sender. Select a sender."

We have server-side synchronization set up (if that matters). This seems to have become an issue when we transitioned to the new UI. Has anyone else had this issue and know how to solve it?

    Got it. We don't have a developer so I appreciate the steps. I just checked and there were two scripts. I temporarily disabled both of them and the issue persists.

    Do you have any other suggestions? I submitted at ticket with MS and had a screen share yesterday but the support engineer didn't have any solution right away.

    Hi,

    You should Navigate to Settings->Customization->Customize the system->Entity->Email->Open Main Form->Form Properties.

    Check any JS code added.

    If you have any developer in your Project he/she should be able to find this out very easily.

    Thank you for the suggestion! Can you share with me how I would find custom code? I just checked the form and it is not ready only

    Hi,

    From address should be auto populated with the logged in User record when you create Email from Activity under Timeline.

    Check if you have any custom code written on Email to clear From Value. Also OOB From field on Email is not read only so please check form properties if you set Read only to this field.

    Once I click On Save and Send. Email created in CRM system with Email Status changed to Sent.

    Elena,

    I can't reproduce this issue. Everything works the way it should in my instance so there is a chance that you have some customizations that causes issues you report. That's why I asked for step-by-step screenshots so please provide it otherwise I will not be able to help you. If posting screenshots is not doable you can get in touch with Microsoft and open support case with them.

    Andrew,

    I am not sure how to do that. However here are the steps I am taking:

    1. Select "Activities" on a Contact

    2. Select Email activity

    3. Select "Insert Template"

    4. Select the template I want to use

    5. Hit Send

    that is when I get the error message that there is no sender. I am unable to edit the "From" field and it is blank.
