Hello
 
Has anyone used this new feature from V28 - Revalue general ledger account balances?
Can anyone give an indication of how the actual calculation is done?
Has anyone successfully run this process?
 
I have concerns this is full of bugs.
 
Any feedback would be appreciated.

    I haven't used it, I have however experienced issues with "source currency" in terms of data errors, so I would highly suggest testing this in a sandbox environment and scrutinising the output heavily

    The Revalue general ledger account balances feature (introduced in v28) allows you to revalue account balances that are held in foreign currencies. The calculation is based on the difference between the current exchange rate and the rate originally used when posting transactions. The system applies the revaluation to the account balance in the source currency and posts the adjustment entries accordingly.
    Key points to keep in mind:
    • Documentation explains the mechanics and setup.
    • Always run the process in a sandbox first to validate results, especially if you have complex postings or multiple currencies.
    • Pay close attention to the source currency setup and historical rates, as data inconsistencies there can cause unexpected results.
    • After testing, reconcile the revaluation entries against expected balances to ensure accuracy before applying in production.
