Bizarre Visual Effect when logging in

I have a client who recently purchased a couple of new computers. On these two computers when you click the icon to login to GP you get the normal credentials screen. After clicking OK, the normal screen appears for a split second and then it appears as if you clicked restore down and then you need to click maximize to get it back to full screen.If this was not bad enough sometimes as they move from screen to screen GP just exits and the user needs to launch it again. I have tried to lower the screen resolution setting but this has not helped. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this behavior? Maybe I should slow down the refresh rate?
