Hi,all.

I would like to ship regular items as free samples.

In that case, I would like to change account  when shipping ordinary goods.

     * Normal items→ cost of sales
     * Sample items → Promotional expense

Is it possible?

    Hi nknori,

    I guess that you talk about the same item that is one time sold and another time given for free.

    The inventory posting matrix does not allow you differentiating based on the usage such as ordinary sale vs. free sample.

    You can thus think about a workaround that you make use of a special customer, tax group or something alike that allows you making a separation in the inventory posting matrix.

    Alternatively, you can make use of a different e.g. service item that you ship for free. If you take out your ordinary item through a movement journal that is posted against the promotional expense account, you can achieve this cost separation but this requires a separate step.

    If you can't or do not want to make use of those workarounds then you have to make a system modification.
