Got this error: "There was an error rendering the control. Value cannot be null. Parameter name: child" while using AxGridView in Visual Studio 2008.  Error occures in the Design View of VS. Code-behind looks ok.

AX 2009 version is RU6 (5.0.1500.3761)

AOS = 64bit

Have someone a suggestion to solve this issue?

regards Erwin

    Hi, I have the same problem. Did you solved it ?

    Hi, in visual studio for your "child" parameter, go to the properties and check off "allow null values"  Redeploy and test.

    Did anyone find an  anwser to this?

    Like Rodolfo wrote - I also only see AxGridView and my AxDataSource on Screen

    On AxGridView properties there are no "Allow null values".

    My Visual Studio used to work. Could the error be caused bt RU6?

    Hello, for what it is worth. I received this error as well.

    I went ahead and pushed the page to the server and was able to get it to render after some work.

    My issue was the fact that EP was on a 64 bit instance.

    It seems that the .aspx and .ascx pages were not in the correct folder for the EP client to read them.

    I copied the files to:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\ep

    And was able to get the datagrid to render.

    There is some documentation about this is the AX 2009 EP Dev Cookbook on page 38 about how to alter SysEPDeployment in the AOT so that it points to the correct path.
