When connecting to Common Data Services in Power BI there's data missing from the "msfp_surveyinvite" table.

Posted on by 5

Hello!

I'm currently working on a Power BI report that is supposed to show data from a Survey sent to a customer list from our company.

This report needs to show everyone that has received the survey and their response to it.

I was recently added as a co-owner on the Customer Voice Project, I think this information is relevant because in this post it is suggested that some information can be missed if the person trying to connect to CDS is not the Project Owner. In my case, I was added to it in September 2021, but data from April is available to me, so I'm not sure the post I mentioned applies to my case.

In Microsoft Docs, it is suggested that the Common Data Service supports paging of query results.pastedimage1633541343210v1.png

Is there any chance the request response I'm receiving is paged? If so, is there any way I can work around this?

More details on the Power BI report below:

  • On Power BI, we first connect to the "Common Data Services" using our CRM Web URL, pull data from the "surveyinvite, surveyresponse, surveyreminder, survey, project, question and questionresponse" tables. No filtering is made, only data normalization on those tables.
  • From the 607 invites sent out (according to the Dynamics 365 Dashboard), only 417 show up on the "msfp_surveyinvite" table loaded in Power BI.
  • The data that is shown presents different dates on the "CreatedOn" column, they can be shown from April until October, but I've noticed that there is data missing in between dates.

If any other details are needed please let me know so I can help the support.

Kind Regards.

Hi, firstly I would check to see if the invitations are actually stored in the msfp_surveyinvite table.

In my case some invitations are just missing in the table. I see the invitations in Customer Voice, but not in the dataverse tables. Probably a bug in the syncing part for which I will log a case with MS.

If you're talking about just 607 invitations, the 80MB restriction of the connector can hardly be an issue.

    Good luck!

UPDATE: After creating a case with MS Support my issues were solved within 24 hours. All missing data and incomplete records were corrected in the tables.
