Reporting in NAV is done by creating and modifying report objects in the NAV report designer. There is no such thing as  "generating a sql report" inside the context of the NAV client. If you are on NAV2009, and you use the Role Tailored Client, it is possible to create the layout of the report by using Visual Studio, but that layout becomes part of the NAV report object. The report first has to be created in the NAV report designer, and the layout is generated by the classic client.

    Hi daniel,

it is nice to hear from you but i have seen such report in nav 4.0 sp3 developed by someone but i am not able to contact to him. if it is possible in nav 4.0 sp3 then it is also  possible in nav 5.0 sp1. Problem is i can't even take the object because of some security problems on client side.

Thanks in advance for any help

    Hi Ashutosh,

I've worked with NAV in all versions since 2000, and I know what is and is not possible. It is not possible to use SQL Server reporting Services within the context of the NAV client, unless it is hacked in there. There might be a way to generate the T-SQL from within NAV that creates the report on SSRS, but you'd have to open the report browser outside the context of NAV. I would not call that a "SQL report in NAV". It just doesn't work that way.

Either you are mistaken, you are not describing this completely, or of course I am not understanding what you mean.
