Sales Trade Discount Amount

Hello,

We'd like to allow the trade discount amount on a sale to exceed the sales order subtotal amount in cases where freight is consumed by the discount.

Does anyone know how this can be accomplished?  Is there a setting I'm missing or have marked wrong?

    This is not a setting issue.  You can't have a Sales Order with a net negative sale amount.

    Frank,

    We intended to use the trade discount to write off "credit purchases" which will post to an accumulated balance on a liability account.  The intent was to by-pass AR and a clearing transaction to resolve the customer’s balance back to 0.  The trade discount works great until the company writes off frieght and taxes exceeding sales subtotal.

    Can you offer any suggestions?

    I utitlized an credit account under payment terms for this purpose.  Problem solved.
