After reinstalling SQL Server 2005 in MS Dynamics GP, how do I reconnect to the Dynamics application?

Hi,

My client is using MS Dynamics GPO 10.0 but is getting SQL Server errors on startup (Windows 2003 Small Business.)   It's SQL Server 2005 and I'm assuming I need to reinstall all the components of SQL Server.  I also gather that I need to completely uninstall first (I tried just installing over the old version and it failed.)  If this is true and I do successfully reinstall, how do I reconnect it to MS Dynamics.  I did all this with an installation of MS Dynamics POS a few years ago, but I don't recall how it all connected.

I need to get it right quickly because the business pretty much revolves around this.  Oh, and Dynamics still works, but they find themselves restarting the server quite a bit and I'm hoping this will fix the problem.

I'm pasting in the errors we see on startup in case that helps.  Thanks for any help!!

Your SQL Server installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with (Could not open SQLEVN70.RLL). uninstall then re-run setup to correct this problem.
Execution cannot continue as the language dependent resource file C:\Program Files\80\Tools\Binn\Resources\1033\SQLSVC.RLL could not be loaded.

I would suspect your hardware has issues. Run diagnostics on the hard drives and memory. I would then uninstall SQL and reinstall using a different install media kit. You also want to check other software that is installed and check for conflicts.

Thanks, I will check the onboard diagnostics.  However, assuming there's no issue and after installation, how will the MS Dynamics recognize the database if nothing else has changed.  I believe I had to connect through the Dynamics interface when I did this on Dynamics POS.  I had the luxury of having that in my shop for a long weekend and I'm not sure I can manage that this time.  I was hoping someone has done this on this forum.

Use the 32 bit ODBC Administrator to create the connection.  This article will guide you.

Thank you.  These instructions look quite explicit.  I'm guessing the ODBC connection is already existent so I assume I will just have to do the connecting.  I'll look into hardware issues first as suggested in your last post.
