i have to come to a strange problem, opening of some accounts changed during the year. we have fiscal year from july to june, and opening changed in the month of September and October. i restore db on test environment, and found that before that they were differ then now. I checked from inquiry => financial => summary and history summary, what may be the cause, and how can i correct??? i traced out all the transactions of September, but didnot found any transaction with which it happened.

GL account related to balance sheet and their posting type mentioned correctly as Balance sheet. These accounts are other than retained earning accounts.

Hi Khurram,

Your TB closing balance of jun14 balance sheet account will be your opening balance except retained earnings account. What specific account you are having problem please check the account maintenance of the same whether the account has been set up correctly balance sheet or p&l.

Dear Leslie,

Problem is that we have fiscal year started from July and ended on June every year. We run close year ended on June 2014 and after closing. we posted number of transactions in year related to July 2013 - June 2014. When we checked our previous year trial balance (Jul 13 - Jun 14) with current year trial balance (Jul 14 till date) we came across that some of the previous year closing balance differ from current year opening balances. We also run reconcile in financial to resolve this issue but problem still remains the same. Can you please suggest some solution for it. or let me know if you need some further information.

Very good direction. The account balance do not change without an entry being posted. Period zero is the ticket to finding where things change.

if you filter the BBF source transactions on period zero on account transactions will show all closing entry and see which is posted on the latest date.

This might be due to someone posted some transactions on previous year which will change your opening balance of current year.
