Reserve items with no availability

Hello,

Is there any way to reserve items with no availability in any of NAV versions? I tried to reserve manually an item with no availability but got the following error:

Entry Summary Entry No '0' does not exist

Can anyone please advice?

Hi!

You have not any way to reserve items with no availability. The error points to a some bug in a customization of your NAV.

You have to reserve an item towards the supply. i.e. Inventory, Purchase Order, Released Production Order or Firm Planned Production Order. Please check if the item is set to reserve which you can find on the Item Card, the reserve field has the options the same field is also available on Sales Line which takes precedence over Item Card.

You have to reserve against something. That could be a Purchase Order Line, Production Order or Assembly Order or a Transfer Order Line if you have Inventory in a different Location. I think those are the only choices but someone will correct me if I've missed something.
