Hello,

I am trying to change the scale and number of decimals in EDT BOMQty to 8.

I created a new EDT (myBOMQty) with the value 8 in /scale/ and /no of decimals/ and I get the following error: /The extended data type 'myBOMQty' is not derived from 'BOMQty'/.

Is this possible?

Hi @Shooowtek,

Did you add BOMQty as Extends property on your EDT? I created new EDT and I'm able to modify scale and no of decimals. Can you share your EDT property so I can help you better.

Yes, I added this as extends to my EDT. But when I do this the value of 'scale' is inherited rom BOMQty and it is set to 6 - the requirement specifies that the value must be 8.

Hi @Shooowtek,

Since your EDT is extends another EDT then it will get the properties from Extended EDT ( BOMQty and it is set to 6 ), so to solve your issue you have two options :

1- Make an extension to the parent EDT BOMQty and modify the properties of it but you need to pay attention this change will affect all references that use this EDT

2- You shouldn't make the new EDT myBOMQty extends from the BOMQty and modify its properties as you want (you can change scale)

Try one of these two suggestions.
