Connect Task Field to Activity View

Hello,

I am trying to connect a custom field I made for the "Task Form" to appear as a column in the activity views.

Here you can see that I created a Lookup field called "Assignee" under the Owner field. This is because we want certain people to be able to create tasks for our sales team members. The owner of the task will still be the sales manager but the sales assignee will be able to see this task in their personal "My Activities" view. Also, I would like this option to be available for people who have access to the "All Activities" view to see the task owners and who the task is assigned to.

Is there a way to do this? I have tried both the new view as well as the legacy view to try and link these entities together but I can not figure it out.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi partner,

    Unfortunately, it is impossible.

We can only make such a Task appear in the "My Task" view but not in the "My Activities" view.

Edit the filter of "My Task" view as follow.

    This is great thank you.

Follow up question, is there a way to make it so the task shows up on the "My Tasks" view if you are the assignee and not the owner? While also being in the "My Tasks" view of the owners?

So Sales Manager X is the owner of a task and Sale Team Member Y is the assignee of the task but both of them are able to see the task in the "My Tasks" view.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

As Lu Suggested, update the My Task view and apply filters as per following:

    • Condition Type OR
      • Owner = Me
      • Assignee = Me

When you apply OR grouping if any of above condition is true, you should see the task in My Task View.

    Best,

    Wahaj

    Hi partner,

Yes, here I use OR group, so as long as the current user is owner or assignee of a Task, it will appear in the "My Tasks" view.
