Issues with AvaTax and MEM together in GP 18.5

Has anyone encountered issues with MEM's account substitution during posting of Sales Invoice when also having AvaTax in GP 18.5?

It looks like MEM does the substitution correctly initially, but AvaTax fires right after during the preview/post and then makes changes which throws off the substitution

When we did not allow Avalara to process tax (e.g. we used native GP tax behavior) we see MEM properly handling Entity substitution during posting.  The issue seems to be related to Avalara tax calculations – basically it looks like MEM does the proper substitution and then Avalara comes back behind after MEM has fired and resets the Tax Account to Default Entity which then results in MEM adding a Due To/Due From for the tax amount.

As GP Support doesn't do any testing at all with any third-party products, unless you've verified that it is a GP issue by removing all third party products completely and testing GP, I'd refer to the supplier of that product that seemingly has an issue.

This is pretty much what we'd state should you open up a support case.

    Thanks

It sounds like there might be some issues with account substitution when posting a sales invoice and using AvaTax in GP 18.5. From what I understand, MEM seems to be doing the substitution correctly at first, but then AvaTax makes some changes during the preview/posting process that throw off the substitution.

It seems that when they didn't allow Avalara to process the tax, the substitution worked properly during posting. The problem appears to be related to Avalara tax calculations. Essentially, it seems like MEM does the correct substitution, but then Avalara comes in after and resets the Tax Account to Default Entity, which causes MEM to add a Due To/Due From for the tax amount.

Avalara is a web-based system for taxation and compliance. SubscriptionFlow integration with Avalara enables firms to manage their taxation while adhering to international standards.

I'm not exactly sure what could be causing this issue, but it might be worth reaching out to the GP support team or Avalara support to see if they can provide any insight or assistance. It's always frustrating when technical issues like this come up, but hopefully, there's a solution out there.
