InventDim AllBlank not created - AX 2012 R3 CU10

Hi Experts,

We have created a new legal entity.

For initial testing process, we have created a product (manually) and released the product.

By default, an InventDim 'AllBlank' should have been created; but, instead system has created an InventDim with value '000001'

Kindly help. I am not sure whether I missed any setup before creating the product.

    Hi Sridhar Narayanan,

    'AllBlank' would be created for invent dim record where all fields are empty, if any of them has a value system will generate '000001' for you.

    Can you confirm that record you are talking about has all dim fields empty  ?

    Hi Ievegen,

    Yes, all the fields are empty.

    As a workaround, we have written a job to update the inventDimId to 'AllBlank'.

    However, would like to know the route cause this issue.

    Hi Sridhar,

    On company creation there is a process which will create the 'AllBlank'. I'm not sure when exactly it will be called. For normal use the InventDim records are created based on uniqueness and when combinations are used. Probably the all empty fields was already "used" somewhere before the system had the logic to create the 'AllBlank' value.

    In fact the invent code 'AllBlank' is not required for this all empty values. But for finding this records, it is the first attempt and thus performance wise the quickest option.

    The most simplies way: go to then rekord an rename to the AllBlank
