Error in importing an AX Model

(0) ShareShare

I am trying to import an ax model sent by an isv for DAX2012R3 CU11. But when I tried to import, it has thrown an error saying

"one or more conflciting model elements already exists in an installed model"

But these models are of other isv.

Why one isv model is getting conflicted with the other isv models?

I should add an additional piece of code to fix that error

    /Conflcit: Push

Hi, keep in mind that using conflict:push will duplicate your conflicting model elements into ISP-Layer and you have to merge both layers.

    Kind regards,

    Heinz

thanks for the info. Is there a way to find out which AOT objects are in ISP layer and how to merge them?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

sorry for my late response. You can create a project and use the advanced filter/sort option to add all elements from a specific layer (community.dynamics.com/.../ax-2012-create-a-project-from-a-specific-layer).

Now you have to check every object from this project. To do this, you should use the compare-util (object > context menu > compare). You need to get sure, that the code from all your ISV-models is merged into a layer above ISP (i asume, you don't have write access to ISV/ISP-layer).

Not doing this may cause, that only the code in ISP-layer is executed and not the code in ISV-layer (for objects which exists in both layers).

    Kind regards,

    Heinz

This error means that both ISV solutions contain changes in same standard AX objects.

If you use conflict:push setting, the changes in the firstly installed ISV model will remain in ISV layer, and the conflicting changes in the second ISV model will be saved on ISP layer.

After the installation, you need to find all objects that exist in ISV and ISP layers, and compare these objects. Then you merge these objects on a higher layer (making sure both ISV solutions will compile and function as expected), such as VAR. Finally, you can delete the conflict model - otherwise you will end up with yet another conflict model when you install new version of your ISV model(s).
