Scheduled Integrations on Win 2008R2 and Dynamics GP 2013 not working

We have had scheduled integrations working on our old server for 5 years.  Because of the requirements of Dynamics 2013, we've had to schedule these tasks on a Win 2008R2 server.  The only task that actually runs is the LogIntoGP one.  The ones to run the integrations don't seem to do anything.

I've read some threads that say that we can no longer do this on 2008 (which I sure hope is not true) but since this is the only version that's supported, what do we do?  No, I'm not going to leave a Windows 7 workstation logged in to do this.  Our previous ones ran on their own without having to have a server/workstation constantly logged in.

What's the deal?  We have lots of integrations that run hundreds of transactions each night.  I can't use econnect as we lose all the functionality of the built in rules of IM.

I did read it, downloaded the software and got so far until it said it's only good for 30 days.  Windows Server and Dynamics are both Microsoft applications.  It should work on its own platform.

The guy even says in the notes "Windows Server 2008 does not support desktop interaction anymore. So, being logged in with the desktop open is your only choice."

So it appears that there is NO way to schedule anything with Dynamics GP without having a always logged on server to run integrations.  How ridiculous.

You have options.  The solution is eConnect.   In you first post you said  <quote>  I can't use e Connect as we lose all the functionality of the built in rules of IM.  </quote>, I don't agree with your assessment. e Connect is much more flexible than IM.  If you have specific point pro integration we can argue here ....

    Cheers!

We have no .net developers on staff, don't have any .Net tool/software, and am not paying $$$$ to contract one to setup integrations that we won't be able to edit or troubleshoot ourselves.

"eConnect, of course, also has its drawbacks. The first of these is that it’s very technical to deploy. Developing custom solutions at this abstracted level requires an array of technical knowledge, including .Net development, Windows network and SQL database skills and expertise. Secondly, it’s fairly difficult to run and maintain.  A custom developed eConnect solution does not have a standard user interface; only a programmer will be able to access the application once it is running. Troubleshooting can be difficult; eConnect does not have the prebuilt tools to validate data and resolve errors. Error logs and reporting are not as defined and errors will often not be easy to resolve."

I installed eConnect on our server and my workstation. Within Integration Manager for eConnect destinations, there is NO transaction integrations for AP and AR.  Really?

So I give up on eConnect as Visual Studio is just too out there for me.  I know have a Win 7 workstation that I can use that can always be logged in and locked.  The macro to log into Dynamics STILL DOES NOT WORK manually when run so how the heck will it ever run on a schedule?

Why would Dynamics release a client that ONLY works on Win 7/2008 knowing that all its Integration customers would be screwed?  I just do not get this at all.

Look at SmartConnect eonesolutions.com/.../SmartConnect.aspx.  It's a much more user-friendly interface than eConnect, yet leverages eConnect's power and flexibility in building integrations.

I'm sorry but SmartConnect is half the price that we paid for IM.  If Microsoft is removing functionality, it should remove our fees for continuing to have to pay for IM yearly.  $4,500 just to schedule integrations that already should work.  Crazy.
