I am upgrading Nav 2009 to 2015 by comparing tables in text compare tool. There are few functions and codeunits that are not present in Nav 2015.How to deal with such situation.Have microsoft mentioned somewhere technique to deal with such scenario or we ourself have to trace the code and find the proper place.

Example of such scenario is OpenFile Function  in  Common Dialog Management(412) is missign in Nav 2015 version.

Where to move code writen under that function and what to do with function call OpenFile.

If you are not using such functions, just ignore it.

If you are using, you need to recreate the same in related objects.  You might need to redefine the complete code.

For e.g. In your case, OpenFile > CommonDialogControl related OCX might not be available in NAV 2015 and hence need to use the relevant .Net Automation variable to recreate the same function.

In newer version there is File Management Codeunit which will handle those kind of functions. Please check the below link

    Hey NAVTech,

IF there is some base change that means it's a Standard Microsoft Change. So it's just a difference between the Versions released by Microoft so there must a enhancement of that particular functionality Method or Triggers which you are thinkimg that it's a missing in the new version. So you need to find out how Microsft has mapped that partiular pieces of codes or anything in the New Version. For e.g Common Dialogue Management has been replaced with File management which has many new functions as well.

    Good Luck.
