Does anyone know what "Use of Cache (Maximum/Medium/Minimum)" in master planning parameters means?
We have a problem in master planning that data are cached in net requirements form.
Now, the master planning job is run automatically per day for all products, once it is executed, I run master planning for an item separately and surprisingly the planned orders are changed! is it a cache problem?
I doubt that cache would result in changes to a planned order. When mrp runs it looks only at the initial net requirements As order are firmed they may be rounded up or down or combined or redated and that means that other orders that were planned may need review. The system deals with this via messages that results in a second mrp pass that might suggest changes to the orders planned. If you don't run messages, then you may see the impact of those re-plan changes when you next run mrp. This as a prior discussion on this topic you can search which las discussed level by level planning.
In principle, run a dedicated AOS with high memory and set cache to maximum when your memory allows.
