Single vs multi instance deployment in D365F&O

Hi,

If a customer has deployed muultiple instances of F&O in same tenant and same codebase and different instances are having different localization activated, is there any best practice to handle that? Will it cause any challenge while deploying the code  using azure devops (dev> Test > Prod) ?

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

It's not a problem for deployment, but if your Test environment is configured differently than Prod, tests there won't guarantee that your changes will work in production. Which doesn't sounds like a good idea.

Thanks Martin,  The code base of test and Prod are same. Only thing is there will be 2 sets of instances (test1 , prod 1 - having Localization A  and test 2 prod 2 - having localization B)

So should they follow the same approach of checking code into devops and and run the pipelines  to deploy it to respective test and prod?

You'll have two production environments? Can you tell us more about it, please?

Anyway, yes, you should use version contol and pipelines. It's just how development and DevOps is done - it doesn't matter many environments you have.

    Hi Matrin,

yes it would have 2 production instances. Both will reside in same tenant but in different regions. This will be done due to data residency requirement for certain countries. SO separately license will be taken for individual production. It will be 2 separate LCS projects in same tenant and separate deployments will be done.

    Thanks

    Hi Talent,

The below provides some information around this:

Multiple LCS projects and environments on one Azure AD tenant
